This report contains data and statistics (from NGOs, the United Nations, government bodies, news reports, papers, and surveys) about human trafficking in China, Japan, and South Korea, including a map of common trafficking routes in East Asia and a graph illustrating the different forms of exploitation experienced by trafficked persons and how relatively common they are in each of the countries being studied. It also includes useful data on the forces behind human trafficking in Asia, reviews the trafficking process itself and examines the actors participating in this trafficking. For those interested in research methods, this report also provides information on the research and data gathering projects that are taking place in East Asia, including some of the challenges faced during the research process.
