UNODC expands key legal database to help improve human trafficking convictions

This report, coming from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, notes that conviction rates among accused persons involved in human trafficking is extremely low, compared to the amount of people that are involved. The report mentions that out of the 132 countries covered in the study, 16% of them never had a single conviction of human trafficking between 2007 and 2010. It also notes that another 23% experienced between 1 and 10 convictions of human trafficking.
